CLIIR is...

  • A collaborative research center that believes in the importance of research to maximize the impact of digital health on health system performance.

  • A center that leverages data from UCSF and UC Health to serve as a learning lab and top-tier academic research and policy hub in digital health.

CLIIR's Cornerstone Initiative:

Using EHR Audit-Log Data to Understand Provider Behavior and Clinical Work Processes

EHR audit-log data, collected primarily to audit user access to patient health information, capture moment to moment clinical care processes within the electronic health record (EHR). This broadly and passively collected data source provides comprehensive data faster than prior methods, without the need for time-intensive manual sourcing and annotation. CLIIR has utilized these data to study trainee growth, provider efficiency and workload, and more. Click here to learn more.
